- What are your main duties and responsibilities?
- Jose’s official title is the Director of Product Marketing
- He is in charge of the different families of golf clubs
- He is also in charge of when different products enter and exit the market, when there are promotions, and what you see at different stores
- What skills and training are necessary for your position?
- He went to Cal State Northridge and earned a Bachelors in Science degree in Business. Jose went to the golf academy to learn the art of selling the product and design of the product. He was an assistant pro before joining the business side of golf.
- Why did you choose to work here?
- He enjoys working at Cobra because it;s such a young company. He likes being able to do so many different projects and since there is only one of him he is constantly working. He also enjoys having a fast-paced environment and having a smaller company where he gets to know the people he is working with.
- What does a typical day look like for you?
- Jose gets to work about 7:30 in the morning and works on emails till around 9. Then he has meetings from around 9 to about 4 in the afternoon, going over the different products, strategy, and marketing.
- Is there any advice for people coming into the company
- You get what you put into your work. You get to be able to work with different people and work in teams. The environment is fast-paced and and light hearted but you can sense the urgency to get things done.
- Is there anything that is important about working with others?
- It is all about teamwork. So being able to work with your teammates, you have to be able to have an open mind and be able to listen to others. You may have one view of your product but someone else may have different piece of input that you happened to overlook. It is crucial to be in conversation with your teammates so they are on the same page on the development of the product.
