Whats the probability of you rolling 10 dice and all falling on the same number?
Well that's what my group set out to find out.
When we first started out we tried racing against each other individually to get to a group of matching dice when we each had 5 dice. We were noticing that it took a while to get a certain number if we didn't already have 2 of the same time. After doing that for a while we worked in pairs against the other pair with 10 dice on each side. We noticed that if we didn't have at least 4 different dice that had the same number it would take a while longer than if you did. The amount of rolls that we saw that got to our goal of 10 of the same dice number ranged from 11-17 rolls.
Each dice has theoretically has 1/6 chance of landing on every face of the dice. But this game is a game of chance not a game of should be. So the chance of all 10 dice landing on all the same dice is very low. But as the amount of dice that you have in decreases the chance of you rolling the number of your choice will increase.
