My painting represents me reaching and aspiring for for courage and hope. The book represents the infinite amount of books and knowledge. Also the book represents my love for reading. The fish represent in a way that I am going with the flow around me. The fish in a way also represent me going or pulled in many different directions and expected to be somebody. Also it is representing me having to have different personalities.
This is my group painting. We are demonstrating how diabetes kills someone every eight seconds and also showing ways to prevent diabetes. The message we are trying to show is how if you don’t take care of you health you are at more of a risk to have diabetes. On the bottom left, we show someone working out which is an aspect of being healthy. On the bottom right, we are showing the process of treating your diabetes such as insulin injections, maintaining a healthy diet, and exercising and living a healthy lifestyle. Overall, we are trying to tell people on how to prevent or if you have how it how you may control it. The type of colors that we chose are colors that stand out as you can see. We want to get people’s attention and make them learn about diabetes.
Reflection
The moment that sums up the exhibition for me was when I was able to explain what diabetes does to your body and how people get diabetes. I was able to talk to people without stumbling over my words too much. I contributed to exhibition by helping finish my group’s projects and critiquing several other groups’ projects. I helped my group with finishing our math and art posters. I had also helped with finding places where some of the pictures would hang. I had helped with setting up the pages for the oral history. I also helped my classmates when they asked for assistance.
What I am the most proud of this semester was exhibition. I am proud because I was able to talk to people and explain the different parts of our entire exhibition. I was also proud of how I used my time wisely and was able to get all of my unfinished work done and ready a couple of days before exhibition started. The lessons that I have learned from the project was that I not only have to go over what I want to present and showcase, I need to have another pair of eyes see the presentation through. I need to do this because I didn't realize I had misspelled several words in my oral history, Since I didn't realize this I showcased my oral history and my parents had pointed out these mistakes when they saw me towards the end of the night. In order to prevent this happening on my next exhibition, I will have two different people edit my final drafts.
